  1. I was super hesitant about going to this retreat. The few people who I knew that were going dropped out last minute, so I didn’t know anybody going, I wasn’t sure what was even planned for the weekend, and I could think of a million other things that I could do instead of going to this retreat. Luckily, I did end up going and I am so glad that I did. It’s kind of a cheesy thing to say, but I learned that so many of the people in Cru are so different than I first thought they were. At first I looked at them and thought that they would have absolutely nothing in common with me. However, the more I found that these people, who I thought I’d have absolutely nothing in common with, had more in common with me than people I usually spend time with. They’re down to spend a few hours doing a Bible study, sharing our different understandings on passages, but at the same time they’re also down to spend a few hours playing a pick up kickball game. It’s not even a question that I’d be up for doing another retreat like this or really anything that’s involving this group of people. I enjoyed it way more than I could’ve hoped to.
